Adidas Nations 2012 Results: Tyler Dorsey Helps USA 2014 Red Win Championship Game

On Monday evening, the 2012 adidas Nations high school basketball tournament came to an end. The championship game and consolation game were played at Long Beach City College with NBA stars like Derrick Rose in attendance to watch the very best high school players from around the world. All five Los Angeles area players were involved in the final day of play, with four of the local representatives playing in the championship game and the fifth helping his team win the consolation game.

In the consolation game, USA 2014 Blue defeated the surprising team from Australia by a final score of 82-62. Breakout Australian star Dante Exum led his team with 17 points, while Isiah Whitehead led 2014 Blue with 15. Daniel Hamilton from Los Angeles put up nine points, grabbed three rebounds and had an assist.

In the championship game, it was an all-United States showdown, as USA 2014 Red squeaked out a win against USA 2013 Blue, 86-84. Tyler Dorsey from Santa Monica hit a three-pointer and had three boards and an assist, but Noah Vonleh led the winning team with 25 points.

There were three local players on the losing side of the championship match. Jordan Mathews from Santa Monica had another strong game, finishing with 13 points and two rebounds. Jordan Bell from Long Beach had six points, seven rebounds and a whopping six blocks. Isaac Hamilton from Los Angeles put up eight points and had three rebounds.
