Alex Morgan, USA Women's Soccer Beats Canada 4-3 In Extra Time

Diamond Bar native Alex Morgan has been relatively quiet when it comes to scoring goals, as she hasn't scored in the last few games. Morgan has done some nice distributing these past few games to set up Abby Wambach for some crucial goals, but she hasn't really put goals on the scoreboard.

That changed on Monday night. When the USA needed her to score, Morgan stepped up and delivered in the final minutes.

The game was a see-saw affair throughout. Canada led 1-0 off a Christine Sinclair goal. Megan Rapinoe responded with a glorious curl on a corner kick that snuck right into the net to tie things up. Sinclair had another glorious goal in the box to make it 2-1 Canada, and then Rapinoe responded with another monster goal from outside the box to make it 2-2. Sinclair competed the hat trick a few minutes later to get it back up to 3-2 Canada, but then the USA got a handball in the penalty box and took advantage of a PK by Abby Wambach to tie things up and send the game into extra time.
