2012 Olympics, Medal Count Update: United States Second Following Sunday's Events

The United States entered Sunday with a slight lead in the overall and gold medal count, but that was erased following a somewhat disappointing day in gymnastics, track & field, and other various events. Here is a look at the top of the country leaderboard. The overall number of medals is listed first, followed by the number of gold, silver and bronze medals won.

1. China: 61 (30 - 17 - 14)
2. United States: 60 (28 - 14 - 18)
3. Great Britain: 37 (16 - 11 - 10)
