Austrailian John Senden and South African Louis Oosthuizen are currently tied for third place after opening rounds of 5-under par, while Dustin Johnson, Luke Donald, Ian Poulter and two others finished with 4-under 67's on Thursday.
PGA champion Rory McIlroy is part of the afternoon group, currently sitting at 1-over after three holes on the day.
