Kaleb Cowart 1 Of 8 Angels Named To Arizona Fall League

With the end of the regular season quickly approaching, the second season isn't far behind. No, I'm not talking about the postseason. I'm talking about the Arizona Fall League, where the Los Angeles Angels will be well represented, sending eight players, highlighted by infield prospect Kaleb Cowart.

The 20-year-old Cowart has been moving up the Angels' farm system this year. After posting a .293 average with nine home runs and 54 RBIs for the low Class-A Cedar Rapid Kernels in 66 games, he was moved up to Class-A Inland Empire where he has a .269 average with seven home runs 46 RBI in 63 games.

Along with Cowart, the Angels will send LHP Buddy Boshers, RHP Ryan Chaffee, OF Randal Grichuk, RHP Kevin Johnson, LHP Nick Maronde, C Carlos Ramirez and OF Travis Witherspoon.

Opening day of the AFL will commence on Oct. 9.
