The Los Angeles Dodgers have been awarded the waiver claim on Boston Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, according to the Los Angeles Times' Bill Shaikin.
Gonzalez dispelled rumors about a waiver claim on Thursday, noting that he can't focus on things out of his control. Now it's up to the powers that be to make a deal, with only a few possible outcomes awaiting the gold glove first baseman.
Per Red Sox beat writer Pete Abraham on Twitter:
3 possible outcomes: Sox withdraw Gonzalez from waivers, Sox trade Gonzalez to Dodgers, Sox give Gonzalez to Dodgers

The two sides have 72 hours to come up with a deal to send Gonzo to Los Angeles.
The Dodgers were also awarded the waiver claim for Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Cliff Lee earlier this season, but no deal could be agreed upon to make a move happen.
The 30-year old Gonzalez is batting .301 with 15 homers, 37 doubles and 85 RBIs this season for the Sox. His seven-year, $154 million deal with Boston currently extends until 2018.
