The US men's water polo team had another solid result to stay on top of their group through three games. This time they remained unbeaten with a 13-7 victory over Great Britain to move to 3-0 in pool play. It was a dominant performance from the start, and two men's players from Los Angeles colleges played a big part in the victory. Adam Wright of UCLA had a goal to put the United States up 6-0, and Shea Buckner of USC put in two to make it 4-0 and 7-0.
In other good news involving Los Angeles athletes, USC graduate Rebecca Soni captured gold in the 200 meter breaststroke in world record time. The United States men's basketball team obliterated Nigeria by 73 points. Tyler Clary upset Ryan Lochte in the men's 200 meter breaststroke. It was a pretty eventful day for Team USA, and they look to continue the upward trend through the week. Next up is Serbia, the gold medal favorites.
