The Los Angeles Lakers aren't only revamping their roster, they are also retooling their coaching staff, which reportedly will include former Orlando Magic assistant Steve Clifford, according to Silver Screen and Roll.
After a decade of coaching in the college ranks, Clifford came to the NBA as an advance scout for the New York Knicks before moving up as an assistant coach under hall of famer Don Nelson. He then worked for both Jeff Van Gundy with the Houston Rockets and Stan Van Gundy with the Orlando Magic, where he was until this year.
Clifford will come to the Lake Show along with Dwight Howard, bringing the experience of working with Superman, as well as his focus on the defensive end of the court, which will help complement Mike Brown's offensive stylings. The Magic finished in the top 10 in defense every year in which Clifford coached.
