Lakers Signings: Devin Ebanks And Jodie Meeks Are Official

The Los Angeles Lakers have officially signed two more players to their roster, and they're two signings we already knew would be happening in Devin Ebanks and Jodie Meeks.

Ebanks figures to be the primary small forward off the bench, now that Matt Barnes is unlikely to be re-signed, and his primary role will be to back up Metta World Peace. Meeks also figures to have a bench role as the primary backup to Kobe Bryant. Bryant spent a lot of time on the floor last season, and considering he's already played the Olympics as well, rest will be necessary to heal his body. Meeks will have a critical role and should see plenty of minutes during the season as Bryant reduces his minutes before building back up for the playoffs. Meeks's primary responsibility will probably be as a three point shooter, as he hit 37% from downtown last season.

Ebanks and Meeks join Antwan Jamison as the smaller, but critical, signings that will try to ensure that the Lakers have enough quality depth behind one of the most exciting starting lineups in the NBA in Bryant, Pau Gasol, World Peace, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash.
