Angels Vs. Mariners Final Score: Halos Drop Stunner Of A Series To Seattle With 4-1 Loss

The Los Angeles Angels were hoping to pick up a series win on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners at the Big A. Unbelievably, the Mariners were able to hand Jered Weaver just his second loss of the season as they defeated the Halos 4-1 in the rubber game.

Jesus Montero led off the second inning with his 11th home run of the year to get Seattle on the board first. The lead didn't last long, as Vernon Wells tied things up in the bottom of the second with a sacrifice fly to score Howie Kendrick. Somewhat surprisingly, that would be the only run the Angels would score in support of Weaver.

In the top of the six, Montero hit his second home run of the game, this time a two-run shot that put the Mariners on top for good. Chone Figgins hit an RBI triple in the top of the ninth for a big insurance run.

Weaver went seven innings, giving up three runs on four hits and three walks. With the loss, he falls to 15-2. Albert Pujols and Mike Trout both went hitless in the game.
