Dwight Howard Arrives, Discusses Relationship With Kobe Bryant And Changing Attitude

Dwight Howard is finally a member of the Los Angeles Lakers. After what seemed like endless trade rumors and deals that were reportedly close to happening, a four-team trade with L.A. and the Magic, Nuggets and 76ers finally brought the big man to SoCal.

Howard met with the media on Friday afternoon and had a few interesting things to say.

As expected, D12 emphasized that he would have no trouble getting along with Kobe Bryant. The two have not always gotten along in the past, but both appear willing to work with each other to make it work in Los Angeles.

"I'm looking forward to learning how to be a leader from Kobe," said Howard.

As for his surgically repaired back -- an issue that plagued him throughout last season and caused him to miss the playoffs -- Howard will not rush back to the court. All reports indicate he is recovering well and should be healthy for the 2012-13 season, but don't expect him to get into the swing of things anytime soon. There is no timetable as of right now.

Finally, Howard had this to say to the media and his fans.

Hey, there's nowhere to go but up.
