2012 Tour de France Results: Thibaut Pinot Wins Stage Eight, Bradley Wiggins Leads Overall

The eighth stage of the 2012 Tour de France has wrapped up after a wild day of racing. In the end it was Thibaut Pinot who crossed the finish line first, beating all of his competition by at least 26 seconds. Quite the performance from the Frenchman, although it was not enough to move him into the top-10 standings for the entire Tour.

Pinot finished the eighth leg in three hours, 56 minutes and 10 seconds. It was his first stage win of the event thus far. Eight cyclists tied for second place, including Bradley Wiggins and Cadel Evans, who are No. 1 and No. 2 in the overall standings, respectively.

The ninth stage of the 2012 Tour de France will commence on Monday morning. Riders will go from Arc-et-Senans to Besançon.
