Roger Federer was looking to get back to the finals for the eighth time in his career, but the first time in the past few years.Novak Djokovic on the other hand was trying to continue his dominance of the sport as of late.Andy Murray has a whole nation behind him at Wimbledon, while Jo-Wilfred Tsonga wants to get his name in the spot light even more.
But on this Friday at the All England Club is was Federer and Murray that came out on top, advancing to the mens final at the championships Wimbledon 2012.
Federer advanced with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory. Centre court had it's retractable roof closed for the match do to some wet weather. The win improved Federer's semifinal record to 8-0 at Wimbledon. His only loss in the final came in 2008 to Rafael Nadal.
On the other side of the coin is Englishman Andy Murray took down Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in a riveting match of 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. He is looking to become the first Brit to win the event since way back when in 1936.
