U.S. Olympic Basketball: Blake Griffin To Be Named To Team, According To Report

The U.S. Olympic men's basketball team will be announced on Saturday and according to a tweet from CBS' Jeff Goodman, Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin will replace the Miami Heat's Chris Bosh on the team.

This team will look very different from the Redeem Team that brought home the gold medal in 2008. Missing in action already are the likes of Bosh, Dwight Howard and Dwyane Wade. Jason Kidd is retired from international play. Those absences make way for players like Tyson Chandler, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant and Griffin to possibly come in and make their presence felt on the international level.

Chandler, Westbrook and Durant were on the 2010 World Championships team but Griffin was not. Griffin would only need to play an energetic 10 to 15 minutes off the bench which would suit his relentless style perfectly. Only a few more days until we know for certain if the Blake Show will be taken overseas.
