The semifinals in the 2012 Farmers Classic were held at UCLA on Saturday. In the end, No. 2 seed Sam Querrey was ultimately the only seeded competitor to make it all the way to the end of the week-long ATP event. The latest installment in the 2012 U.S. Open Series was fraught with upsets from beginning to end, including on Saturday in Westwood.
In the first match, Ricardas Berankis was able to upset No. 6 seed Marinko Matosevic. in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1. For a moment, it appeared as though there was one final upset in the making in the nightcap on Saturday. No. 2 seed Sam Querrey took the first set against Rajeev Ram, 6-3, before falling behind in the second set, 2-4. Querrey stormed back to complete the win by taking the second set, 7-6 (7-4).
Querey and Berankis will face off in the finals on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on ESPN 2.
