London Olympics 2012: Team USA Grabs Bronze In Women's 4x100m Freestyle Relay Final

Long Beach native Jessica Hardy, Pasadena native Missy Franklin and the rest of Team USA took home the Bronze Medal in the Women's 4x100m Relay event, finishing behind Australia and the Netherlands. Team USA started strong in the event, leading after two legs, but both Australia and the Netherlands had a stronger closing half. Australia finished in 3:33.15, Netherlands in 3:33.79, and the USA in 3:34.24.

Franklin was the first leg of the relay, followed by Hardy, Lia Neal and Allison Schmitt. Both Franklin and Hardy will still have plenty of opportunities to pick up more medals. Franklin is competing in the Women's 100m Freestyle, 200m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke and 4x100m Medley Relay, while Hardy will compete in the Women's 50m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley Relay.
