Olympics Tennis Results: Serena Williams Destroys Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 6-1

Serena Williams wasted no time in starting right where she left off on her domination of Wimbledon Centre Court. Only a few weeks removed from winning The Championships of Wimbledon, Williams returned and took care of Serbia's Jelena Jankovic. Williams broke Jankovic once in the first set and three times in the second set to breeze into the second round after barely an hour of play.

In terms of total stats, Williams won 76% of her first serves and an incredible 100% of her second serves (Jankovic was 69% on her first serves, 88% on her second serves). Serena served eight aces to Jelena's one, and her winning percentage on second serves (70% to Jankovic's 38%) proved to be a determining factor in victory. Williams won 56 total points to Jankovic's 37.

Williams now moves on to face Urszula Radwanska of Poland in the second round of the Olympics women's singles tournament.
