2012 Olympics: Start Times, Event Schedule, Gold Medals And More For Saturday

The first day of the 2012 Olympics is set to commence Saturday from London. After an incredible night of Opening Ceremonies, athletes from all over the world are ready to display their talents with the entire world watching. Here is a preview of what is to come on day one.

All of the start times are in Pacific Standard Time. If you're on the east coast, simply add three hours to the start time. London is eight hours ahead of the west coast.

Archery: One gold medal is up for grabs in archery. The Men's Team Round of 16 is set to begin at 1 a.m. That's a 4 a.m. start on the east coast, a 9 a.m. start in London. The Men's Team Quarterfinals, Semifinals, Bronze Medal and Gold Medal Match will run from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Cycling: A gold medal is up for grabs in cycling. The Men's Road Race will begin at 2 a.m. and run through 8 a.m.

Fencing: One gold medal will be awarded on Saturday in fencing. Everything is set to begin at 2:30 a.m. The Women's Individual Matches will narrow down the field from 64 to the quarterfinals section. Following a break, the Semifinals, Bronze Medal Match and Gold Medal Match will run from 10 a.m. to noon.

Judo: Two gold medals will be awarded on Saturday. The Men's 60kg and Women's 48kg matches will begin at 1:30 a.m. It will be a busy day, with the Gold Medal Matches expected to begin around 8 a.m.

Shooting: This will be the first event of the 2012 Olympics. The Women's 10M Air Rifle qualifying will begin at 12:15 a.m, and the finals will begin at 3. The Men's 10M Air Pistol qualifying is set for 4 a.m., with the finals set for 7:30. Two gold medals will be awarded.

Swimming: Swimming is always one of the more entertaining events at the Olympics. Heats and qualifications will run from 2 a.m. until about 4:30. The finals and quarterfinals will start around 11. Four gold medals will be given out to the winners of the Men's 400m IM (11:30 a.m.), Men's 400m freestyle (11:49), Women's 400m IM (12:09 p.m.), and Women's 4x100m freestyle (12:40).

Weightlifting: One gold medal is up for grabs in weightlifting. Beginning at 7:30 a.m., Group A will compete in the Women's 48kg/106lbs portion.
