Rena Wang is a member of Team USA, representing the United States in Women's Singles Badminton at the 2012 London Olympic Games. Born in Arcadia, California, she's a Biology major at UCLA and a decorated badminton player. She won the gold medal in Women's Singles at the 2011 Peru International Badminton Championship, and has also medaled in Women's Doubles competition, teaming with her sister Iris.
Wang Yihan of China is the reigning world champion and the woman to beat in the Women's Singles division. Wang is the only American woman in singles competition, facing powerhouse nations such as South Korea and China, who took the gold medal at the 2008 Beijing games. The action in Women's Singles Badminton takes place Saturday, Aug. 4.
