2012 British Open, Leaderboard Update: Brandt Snedeker Leads, Tiger Woods On The Prowl

Low scores are the name of the game at the 2012 British Open at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, and it was a pair of young guns leading the charge as Brandt Snedeker and Adam Scott have vaulted atop the leaderboard on Friday.

Snedeker stole the show in the second round, firing a 6-under 64 to vault atop the leaderboard at 10-under for the week. He is now tied with Nick Faldo for the lowest 36-hole score ever at the Open. As for Scott, he used a second round 67 to leave him just one shot off the pace at 9-under in solo second.

Then there was Tiger Woods, who after a second straight round of 3-under 67 finds himself in solo third at 6-under. Tiger birdied three of his last four holes included a chip in from a greenside bunker on the 18th.

Paul Lawrie and Graeme McDowell headline a large group at 4-under for the week, while former champion Ernie Els is 3-under for the week. Phil Mickelson never got anything going, missing the cut at 10-over par.
