Tiger Woods had a solid round of golf in the first round of the 2012 British Open. It's no surprise that he still remains the favorite to win the Open Championship. But his odds are really short at 4 to 1.
Honestly, it just doesn't feel like a good bet to take Woods here. Look, if you like Tiger, that's fine, but you're telling me that in 20% of all scenarios at this tournament, Woods is the one who would end up on top? The math doesn't seem to work out here unless you're really high on his chances and truly believe Tiger is Tiger again. It's a very difficult risk to take, considering there are probably better value bets out there.
Among other Los Angeles golfers, Hunter Mahan posts 60 to 1 odds where he currently stands at even-par, Rickie Fowler has 80 to 1 odds now that he stands at +1, and John Huh has 500 to 1 odds after falling behind the pack at +5. No real strong bets anywhere there, but still worth taking a look at over a 4 to 1 bet with Tiger.
