The big news from the 2012 French Open on Saturday was Maria Sharapova's victory over Sara Errani, giving her the win in the Roland Garros Women's Singles tournament and making her the 10th woman in the history of tennis to collect a career Grand Slam. Errani, who entered the tournament as the no. 21 seed and will surely see her stock rise, put up a valient effort but was overwhelmed. Sharapova had more power, a size advantage, and the fitness to drive the pace. She won in straight sets, 6-3 and 6-2.

The Men's and Women's Legends tournament had their fourth round on Saturday. John McEnroe and Patrick McEnroe defeated Mikael Pernfors and Mats Wilander and Lindsay Davenport and Martina Hingis defeated Martina Navratilova and Jana Novotna.
