The WBO Welterweight Title will be on the line on Saturday night as Manny Pacquaio will battle Palm Springs native Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The pay-per-view event will be watched by millions, and it appears the Philippines will have a definite rooting interest both during and before the event.
In addition to the Filipino Pacquaio in the ring, American Idol runner-up Jessica Sanchez, a 16-year old Filipino-Meixcan-American, will sing the national anthem. Sanchez, who finished second in this season's American Idol competition, tweeted Tuesday that she had landed the big event.
