The UCLA Bruins have been taking care of business at home as hosts of the 2012 College World Series Los Angeles Regional tournament, winning their first two rounds of play to advance straight to the championship round. Now they must wait to find out which one of these teams they have already beaten will face them to advance in the NCAA tournament.
UCLA blanked Creighton 3-0 in game one, than smashed New Mexico in game two by the score of 7-1 to advance. Now Creighton and New Mexico will battle it out on Sunday to see which one will move on to face the Bruins once more. First pitch of that game is set for 3 p.m. PT this afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Since UCLA is 2-0 in this double-elimination tourney, they will only have to win game six of the regional to advance, while Creighton or New Mexico will have to beat the Bruins twice to advance. Game six is tonight at 7 p.m. PT and game seven if necessary is Monday at 7 p.m. PT as well.
