The 2012 French Open wasn't the best performance of Serena Williams' illustrious career. As a matter of fact, it was the first time she was ever knocked out of the first round in 47 Grand Slam appearances. So, naturally, there were questions surrounding her - and Venus' - playing future.
Serena wasted no time dispelling any negative thoughts that her career might be over, as the Associated Press reports.
"I have no intention of stopping, and I don't think [Venus] does either. We're definitely connected at the hip," Williams said. "I enjoy being out there on the court so much."
With Wimbledon just two days away, Williams is clear that she still sees herself competing at a high level.
"Whether I had won in Paris or lost like I did in the first round, I am always extremely motivated," Williams said. "If anything, you know, I think losing makes me even more motivated."
Looks like the Grand Slam staple that is the Williams sisters will continue for the foreseeable future and that's good for the sport of tennis.
