The Boston Celtics have had a great run with their 'big four' of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen, but the sun may be setting on the fantastic four as rumors are swirling that Ray Allen may take off for greener pastures.
According to a report from Pro Bastball Talk, the Los Angeles Clippers may be one of the top candidates to vie for his services this summer:
If the Celtics don't pan out for Allen, Sports Illustrated's NBA writer Chris Mannix was told that the Knicks and Heat are at the top of his list. But a source very familiar with Allen's situation told ESPNNewYork.com that the Heat, as well as potentially the Clippers, will be more attractive to the five-time All-Star in the offseason because they're top teams that can offer more than the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million. That will likely be the Knicks' spending limit for free agents.
This is an interesting scenario that will have to pan out as the summer goes on, but the Clip Show would certainly love to have one of the most prolific shooters of all time on their squad next year.
