NASCAR At Pocono 2012 Results: Kevin Harvick Gains Ground In Sprint Cup Standings

The Pocono 400 took place on Sunday. Kevin Harvick finished in 14th place as the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series entered its second half. Although Joey Logano picked up the win with a bump-and-run pass of Mark Martin with three laps to go, Harvick still managed to gain some ground.

Harvick picked up 47 points in the Sprint Cup standings and will leapfrog over Martin Truex, Jr. to reclaim the No. 6 spot. There is still plenty of time left in the season and Harvick has been thoroughly entrenched in the Top 10 for some time. It would take quite a string of bad luck to push him below the cutoff line before the Chase for the Cup really gets started in earnest.
