According to VegasInsider, Tiger Woods is favored to win the 2012 US Open. Woods is currently posting 6:1 odds to win the whole deal, with Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald right behind at 12:1.
Woods is probably the favorite for no other reason than his name is Tiger Woods and everyone who doesn't know the slightest thing about golf but loves to gamble will probably be laying their stakes in on Woods. It doesn't make him a good bet at all this weekend, unless you are super-confident that Woods has regained his mojo after winning his first tournament in years.
Of the Los Angeles golfers, Rickie Fowler comes in with the second best odds, posting in at 25:1 (tied for seventh overall). Hunter Mahan is next at 30:1 (tied for tenth place overall). Your longshots are Patrick Cantlay (200:1), Kevin Chappell (250:1), and Olin Browne (300:1). Those are probably all automatically better bets, because it's not Tiger Woods you're laying six-to-one odds on.
