2012 French Open Results: Top Seeds Novak Djokovic, Victoria Azarenka Advance

Many of the top seeds at the 2012 French Open are still alive in the competition, including No. 1 seeds Novak Djokovic and Victoria Azarenka. Both had matches on Friday at Roland Garros and won convincingly; Djokovic defeated Nicolas Devilder 3-0, and Azarenka knocked off Aleksandra Wozniak 6-4, 6-4 in two sets.

No. 3 seed Roger Federer advanced with a 3-0 victory over Nicolas Mahut. Five-seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga came away victorious over unranked Fabio Fognini in three sets. In what was the lone upset of the day, No. 22 Andreas Seppi defeated No. 14 Fernando Verdasco in five thrilling sets, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

On the women's side of the tournament, Maria Sharapova won in two sets. No. 3 seed Agnieszka Radwanska lost to No. 26 Svetlana Kuznetsova in two sets.
