The Players Championship 2012, Leaderboard Update: Matt Kuchar Tied For First

The 2012 Players Championship is off to a great start and those who shot even or better through two rounds made the cut on Friday afternoon. Tiger Woods rallied to shoot -4 in the second round to move him to two-under for the tournament. Phil Mickelson struggled early on Friday but managed to hit two birdies late to move him to -2.

The story of the day, though, was Zach Johnson. He shot six-under and a tournament-best 66 in the second round to move him into a tie for first place with Kevin Na and Matt Kurchar. Despite not getting much attention from the national media, Kuchar has now shot four-under par in both days of the tournament thus far.

Rory McIlroy struggled throughout and was sent home early after finishing Friday with a score of +4. Vijay Singh and Ernie Els (+2) missed the cut.

The third round of the tournament is set to begin on Saturday morning.
