USC Baseball 2012: Trojans Split Road Series Against Washington State

The USC Trojans had a lengthy seven-game road trip recently that culminated with three games over the weekend against Pac-12 rivals the Washington State Cougars. They split the first two games on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday's game was postponed due to rain.

On Friday, the Trojans managed a wild come-from-behind 15-10 win in which they plated eight runs in the top of the ninth inning. The win made up for USC's sloppy play in a game where the Trojans committed four errors. Second baseman Dante Flores was four-for-five at the plate, with a walk, three RBI and three runs scored.

The team did not fare quite so well on Saturday, as a three-run Cougars eighth led to a 9-7 loss. DH Jake Hernandez had three hits and three RBI but the team was unable to manage the win.

USC is now 16-9 overall, but just 3-5 in the Pac-12.

The Trojans have four home games this week. On Tuesday, they will host the Pepperdine Waves before kicking off a three-game Pac-12 series. The California Golden Bears will come to town for games on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
