Eugene Phelps scored 18 points to lead the No. 1 seed Long Beach State 49ers to a 80-46 win over the No. eight seed UC Davis Aggies on Thursday night in the quarterfinals of the 2012 Big West Tournament at the Honda Center in Anaheim. Long Beach State will advance to play the No. 7 seed UC Irvine Anteaters, who shocked No. 2 seed Cal State Fullerton on Thursday.
T.J. Robinson had 12 points and eight rebounds for the 49ers, who shot 47.6% from the field in the game, including seven for 18 from three-point range (38.9%). Casper Ware added 11 points for Long Beach State (23-8), who had five players in double figures. The 49ers led 41-21 at halftime.

Long Beach State played UC Davis (5-26) three times this season, and beat them by at least 20 points each time.The49ers won 86-58 at home on January 12, and triumphed 89-69 on the road on February 11. Combined with Thursday night's win, the average margin of victory for Long Beach State over UC Davis this season was 27.3 points per contest.
Eddie Miller scored 17 points to lead UC Davis, who shot just 36.4% (eight for 22) in the first half. He was the only Aggies player to score in double figures.
