Long Beach State Vs. Cal State Fullerton Final Score: 49ers Fall Short Of Perfect Big West Record With 77-74 Loss

The Long Beach St. 49ers saw their hopes for a perfect Big West season come to an end on Saturday evening. The 49ers visited the Cal St. Fullerton Titans at the Titan Gym in Fullerton and came close, but lost by a final score of 77-74. With the loss, the 49ers finish the Big West regular season with a 15-1 record and a 22-8 overall record.

The difference in the game ended up being the first half. Long Beach entered the half trailing by three points, 35-32. The 49ers fought hard to stay in the game throughout, with each team putting together a 42-point second half.

Long Beach State will still enter the Big West tournament as the No. 1 seed. The tournament kicks off on Thursday.

The Cal State Fullerton Titans will enter the Big West tournament as the No. 2 seed. They finished the regular season with a 21-8 overall record and a 12-4 record in the conference.
