Bakersfield native Kevin Harvick entered the 2012 Food City 500 on Sunday as the second-place overall points holder in the Sprint Cup Series standings. At the end of the day, he's still in second place, but the competition is certainly heating up.
Harvick finished in 11th place at Bristol Motor Speedway in the first short-track race of the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. He remains in second place overall, nine points behind leader Greg Biffle. Matt Kenseth and Martin Truex, Jr. had top-ten finishes and are nipping at Harvick's heels. Through the first four races of the season, Harvick has not finished below 11th place.
Brad Keselowski took the checkered flag in his second straight win at Bristol and his fifth career win.
