Big West Tournament 2012 Bracket Update: Long Beach State To Face UC Davis In First Round

The Long Beach State 49ers completed their home schedule on Wednesday night with a 77-50 destruction of UC Irvine at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. The 49ers, who have one more regular season game remaining, finished their home schedule at 12-0, and have won 22 consecutive games at home dating back to last season. The 2012 Big West Tournament gets underway on Thursday, March 8 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, and Long Beach State is set to play UC Davis in the first round.

Long Beach State has lost the Big West Tournament final to UC Santa Barbara in each of the last two seasons.

The 49ers, who will be the No. 1 seed for the second year in a row, will play the No. 8 seed Aggies on Thursday night, one of four games on the tournament's opening day. The order of games will be finalized on Sunday, March 4.

Cal State Fullerton (20-8, 11-4) is fighting it out with UC Santa Barbara (16-9, 10-4) for the No. 2 seed, while the other four teams are jumbled together for the fourth through seventh seeds. Cal Poly, Pacific, and UC Irvine are all at 6-8, and UC Riverside is at 6-9.
