The Pepperdine Waves suffered a 70-57 home loss to the San Diego Toreros on Thursday night at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. The loss was the third straight defeat for the Waves, who have lost 11 of their last 12 contests.
The Toreros (10-14, 5-7) swept the season series against the Waves, as San Diego triumphed at home 65-56 on January 26. San Diego returned the favor from last season, when Pepperdine (8-16, 2-11) beat the Toreros three times, including in the West Coast Conference tournament.
Corbin Moore led the Waves in defeat with 17 points and 11 rebounds, his team-leading seventh double-double of the season. Joshua Lowery added 10 points and five assists in 32 minutes for Pepperdine, who shot 41.8% from the field.
Christopher Anderson scored 15 points and had seven assists to lead USD in the win. Cameron Miles added 14 points and four rebounds. San Diego shot 51.0% in the win, and outrebounded Pepperdine 37-27 on the night.
The Waves head to Provo, Utah on Saturday night to face the BYU Cougars.
