College Basketball Rankings: Long Beach State Receives Votes In Coaches, AP Polls

Long Beach State is the lone LA County school receiving votes in the polls.

Long Beach State continues to provide Los Angeles with its only representation within the national polls as it received eight votes in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches poll and six votes in the Associated Press Poll.

The eight votes put Long Beach State in the imaginary no. 32 ranking in the country and the AP's six also placed the 49ers in the no. 32 slot. It's been a long time since the 49ers could make claim to being the best team in LA but with UCLA and USC enduring below-average seasons, the closest LA residents will get to seeing local clubs in the rankings is Long Beach State's continual outside-looking-in approach.

The 49ers sit at 17-6 on the season after defeating Cal State-Northridge, 75-67, on Saturday. They have won five of their last six games. Meanwhile, UCLA is 13-10 after beating Washington State, 63-60, on Saturday and USC sits at 6-18 after being blown out by Washington, 69-41, on Saturday.
