Angels Prospect Mike Trout Named No. 3 Overall Minor League Prospect

MinorLeagueBaseball.com's John Sickels put out his top 120 prospects for 2012 list and the Los Angeles Angels had three players in the top 120 plus one among the honorable mentions.

This list is a quick way to compare the various farm systems across the league and see who is harboring the best talent for the future. The Angels may not have a lot of players ranked, but they do have one of the top three.

The highlight for the Angels was no. 3 prospect, outfielder Mike Trout. Trout was MLB.com's no. 1 prospect entering the 2011 season and was the youngest recipient to ever receive the J.G. Taylor Spink Award as Topps Minor League Player of the Year in 2010.

Trout hit .326 with 11 HRs and 38 RBIs in the minors last season.

Also on the list were infielder Jean Segura (no. 66), right-handed pitcher Garrett Richards (no. 96) and right-handed pitcher Johnny Hellweg (honorable mention).
