Daytona 500 2012 Postponed Until Monday, Kevin Harvick Must Wait

Bakersfield native Kevin Harvick is going to have to wait a little longer than usual to try and win the Daytona 500. After copious thunderstorms, the Daytona 500 will be missing a day for the first time since forever.

Harvick and everyone else will try and run it again Monday at 9 AM PT, on FOX. Harvick has won one Daytona 500 in 2007. Harvick drives the Budweiser Chevrolet Impala for Richard Childress Racing, and the car will have to wait at least one day before it gets a chance to earn its driver a second victory.

The Daytona 500 has always had to deal with rain, but it's never been postponed until now. In 1963, 1979 and 1992 they had to deal with a yellow flag; in 1965, 1966 and 2009 they shortened the overall length of the lane.
