Long Beach State Vs. UC Riverside: Larry Anderson Becomes All-Time Steals Leader In 64-40 49ers Win

T.J. Robinson had 16 rebounds and 10 points to lead the Long Beach State 49ers over the UC Riverside Highlanders 64-40 on Saturday evening at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. The win was the 22nd straight regular season Big West win for the 49ers, and 21st consecutive home win at Walter Pyramid.

Casper Ware led Long Beach State (21-7, 14-0 in Big West) with 17 points and three steals, and also dished out four assists. The 49ers shot 43.1% on the night from the field, and they held Riverside to just 28.8% shooting as the Aggies made just 17 of 59 shots from the field.

Larry Anderson scored 11 points for the 49ers and also had one steal to become the all-time Long Beach State leader in steals with 201. Anderson passed Lucious Harris (1989-1993), who had 200 steals. Ware is close behind with 198 thefts in his career.

Phil Martin scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead UC Riverside (13-16, 6-9).

Long Beach State concludes its Big West regular season schedule next weekend with a pair of games in the Southland, beginning Thursday night at home against UC Irvine.
