The Pepperdine Waves had a huge second half on Saturday night at the Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu. They managed to best the visiting Portland Pilots and pick up their third WCC win of the season with a 70-65 win.
The Waves actually trailed 27-26 heading into halftime, but the second half turned into a shootout between the two teams. Pepperdine was ultimately able to pull ahead and prevail.
Taylor Darby and Jordan Baker led the Pepperdine scorers with 17 points each. Joshua Lowery also contributed 14 points to the winning effort. On the Portland side, Kevin Bailey led all scorers with 18 points, but managed just one rebound, one steal and no assists.
With the win, Pepperdine improves to 3-12 in WCC play, with an overall record of 9-18.
Pepperdine will play their final game before the WCC tournament begins on Thursday, Feb. 23, when they travel to take on the Santa Clara Broncos.
