College Baseball 2012: USC Picks Up Lopsided 11-3 Win Over Jacksonville

The USC Trojans have started their 2012 baseball season off on the right foot. On Saturday, they picked up their second win in their second game of the year with an 11-3 home victory over the Jacksonville University Dolphins.

The Trojans scattered single runs throughout the second, fourth and sixth innings, but the Dolphins scored a pair of runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game up, 3-3. The close game was short-lived, as USC scored a whopping eight runs in the bottom of the frame to turn the game into an instant laugher. Corben Madden walked in a run to start the Trojans rally. Madden's relief, Sean Green, fared no better, walking in two runs. Another pitching change for Jacksonville resulted in a double and a single and just like that, a 3-3 tie had turned into an 11-3 blowout.

WP -Bobby Wheatley (1-0): 1 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER

LP - Drew Woods (0-1): 1 IP, 4 hits, 4 ER, 1 walk, 1 HR allowed
