For Angels fans hoping to catch a glimpse of their future stars at the Arizona Fall League on Wednesday, they were sadly disappointed. Of the eight Halos on the roster, just two played in Scottsdale's 4-3 loss to Mesa.
The brightest star amongst the Angels was Randal Grichuk, who finished the afternoon just 1-5 — but that one hit was a solo home run. In addition, Kaleb Cowart started at third base for Scottsdale, but had a relatively quiet afternoon himself. He finished with just one single at the plate, dropping his average to .196 this fall.
And really, if there was any story from Wednesday, it was how few Angels actually participated for Scottsdale. Four Angels pitchers are on the staff for the Scorpions (Buddy Boshers, Bobby Cassevah, Ryan Chaffee, Kevin Johnson) but none got any work in on Wednesday.
It was the same for position players Carlos Ramirez and Travis Witherspoon, who didn't see the field either.
