Arizona vs. UCLA update: Bruins continue to dominate, up 42-3 at half

This is turning out to be a pretty good night for UCLA. Earlier in the day, the Trojans lost. Now, the Bruins are up on No. 22 Arizona at halftime 42-3.

The first quarter saw a Bruins' record fall on a 37 yard touchdown. UCLA running back Johnathan Franklin scored a touchdown to break Gaston Green's record of 3,731 total rushing yards; a record that has stood since 1987. Franklin, a senior, assumes the title of UCLA's all-time leading rusher at slightly over the midway point of the season. The Los Angeles native has plenty of time to further distance himself from Green.

Going into the second quarter, UCLA was up 21-0 on Arizona. The Bruins went on to score their fourth unanswered touchdown of the game on a 1 yard run by Damien Thigpen. At the 6:47 mark, Arizona finally received their first points of the game on a field goal.

The field goal by 'Zona didn't stop UCLA's momentum. Johnathan Franklin scored his second touchdown of the game on a 2 yard rush, putting the Bruins up 35-3. To add insult to injury, UCLA quarterback Brett Hundley completed a 1 yard pass to Joseph Fauria for the touchdown with 14 seconds remaining in the half. The Bruins added another 7 points to their total and went into the locker room leading Arizona, 42-3.
