The first round of the 2012 World Challenge is underway from Thousand Oaks, California. With a purse of $4 million, the World Challenge is one of the bigger tournaments played in the winter months.
Midway through the first round, Keegan Bradley and Justin Day are the current leaders at -3. Bradley moved out to take an early edge, and two birdies on the back-nine from Day tied him atop the leaderboard.
Graeme McDowell sits in second place at 2-under par, just one stroke back of the leaders. McDowell hit back-to-back birdies on the tenth and eleventh holes. He is currently tied with Webb Simpson.
Tiger Woods and Nick Watney are two strokes back of Bradley and Day. Woods had a birdie and bogey on the front-nine, and then converted a birdie on No. 11 to move to -1. Rickie Fowler, Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson round out the top 10 and are currently even for the course.
