The Long Beach St. 49ers have played a very tough schedule in the opening weeks of the season. On Sunday afternoon, the team got back on track against Fresno State. The 49ers shot nearly 44 percent from the field on their way to a 69-61 victory to pick up their second win of the year.

Peter Pappageorge was the leading scorer with 23 points. Pappageorge played 37 minutes and hit four of his eight attempts from behind the arc to complete a very impressive day. James Ennis chipped in 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Mike Caffey played all but two minutes on Sunday, and he finished with 13 points and six assists.

The Bulldogs really struggled with turnovers, giving the ball away 15 times. They shot 38.6 percent from the field and missed eight of their 19 free throw attempts, which is never a recipe for success. Allen Huddleston (13) and Tyler Johnson (10) were the only two Fresno State players to record double-digits in scoring.

LBSU will take on Loyola Marymount on Thursday, Nov. 29.
