The LA Clippers were going for the pre-season sweep against the Utah Jazz on Sunday. Unfortunately it would be an uphill battle all the way for the Clips. By the end of the third quarter, the Jazz had built up a large 80-65 lead over the Clippers. Something finally clicked for LA in the fourth. They held Utah to only 19 points while scoring 26 of their own; however, the point gap was just too much to overcome. The Clippers lost to the Jazz, 99-91.
Matt Barnes lead the Clippers in scoring with 22 points. Chris Paul had 17 points with a team-high 8 assists and lead in minutes on the court. Clippers lead in fast-break points with 24, and also points in the paint at 44.
Like the Yankees earlier in the week, the Clippers had many players of note on the bench during tonight's game. Among those on the sidelines were: Chauncy Billups, Caron Butler, Blake Griffin, Grant Hill and Lamar Odom. Hill was the only one of the group to not dress.
