The Los Angeles Dodgers hoped to win the second game of their series when Chris Capuano goes to the mound to face Barry Zito of the San Francisco Giants. The Dodgers need to win to stay alive for the playoffs, all while hoping the Cardinals lose out. If Los Angeles wins their final two and St. Louis loses their final two, there will be a one-game playoff on Thursday to determine who moves on.

Capuano has a 12-11 record with an ERA of 3.69, and the Dodgers are hoping for another performance like the one he recorded at AT&T Park just under a month ago. Capuano conceded two runs during seven innings and Los Angeles won 3-2. The Giants have performed alright against Capuano, hitting 36-for-128 with 17 RBIs.

Zito is 14-8 this season with a 4.19 ERA, including holding the Dodgers down with six and a third innings of work. Zito has two shutouts in his last three outings against the Dodgers, but did get rolled up in the other performance.
