USC remained a steady No. 11 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll after a victory over unranked Washington gave the Trojans a 5-1 start to their season.
With movement all around them, the Trojans were among few teams unchanged in the poll's top 20 teams, as key results sent some teams tumbling and others climbing. The entire country, however, does continue to chase the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 2 Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks and Trojans are joined in the top 12 by the surprising Oregon State Beavers, which remain undefeated and come in at No. 8 in this week's poll, up two spots from last week and just ahead of the No. 9 South Carolina Gamecocks.
The Gamecocks and No. 17 West Virginia Mountaineers (previously No. 5) were among the teams being dealt their first losses of the season this weekend.
