Loyola Marymount Vs. San Diego Final Score: Drew Viney, Ashley Hamilton Lead Lions To 79-68 Road Win

Drew Viney scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Loyola Marymount Lions to a 79-68 road win over the San Diego Toreros Saturday night at the Jenny Craig Center in San Diego. It was the third win in the last four games for Loyola Marymount, who improved to 2-1 in West Coast Conference play.

The game was tied at 30-30 with 5:36 remaining in the first half, but the Lions closed the half on a 6-1 run, with Viney scoring the final five points of the half for LMU. With Viney and Ashley Hamilton now healthy, it gives Loyola Marymount a pair of dynamic forwards to lead their offense and makes them a formidable opponent in the WCC.

Hamilton scored 16 points and had seven rebounds off the bench. Viney has only played six games this season and Hamilton has only played four, but the two have averaged 16.5 and 15.5 points per game, respectively. This was the first game in which both have played together this season.

Anthony Ireland scored 15 points, had four rebounds, and four assists for LMU in the win. Johnny Dee scored 24 points to lead San Diego (5-10, 0-3). Christopher Anderson added 13 points, eight assists, and five rebounds for the Toreros.

Loyola Marymount travels to Malibu to face the Pepperdine Waves in a WCC contest on Thursday night on ESPNU.
